Mission Statement
Extended Hands is a non-profit organization based in Montreal focused on meeting the needs of low income households while giving them the social skills needed to properly reintergate in our society. We treat our neighbors as we would have them treat us. Our organization is based on principles of accountability, integrity, honesty and transparency. We have strict policies and budgetary reviews in place to ensure that all forms of assistance go to the people in need while maintaining very low administrative costs.
Our Birth
Extended Hands was birthed out of a vision to help people in need who are destitute, hungry, cold and hurting.
Although we are an organization in progress, we have come far in a short amount of time and will continue to do all we can to help others. 
In February 2005, Extended Hands began it's outreach program at it's previous location in NDG, Quebec. Because of limited space and time, it began servicing the community once per month, offering free hot meals,
After functioning in this capacity for one year, Extended Hands moved its’ location to Lachine, QC and began servicing the community there. With greater facilities, it was able to run its’ services twice per week again offering free hot meals and still making clothing and so forth readily available, all from sponsorship and donations.
We began to grow in volunteers and in numbers of those in the community in need of assistance. However, we could not keep facilitating the people on the limited supply of food because of the rapid growth.
Extended Hands decided to take another step in progression. It became a registered non-profit charity in September 2008.
It was now able to offer income tax receipts to all our generous supporters. As well, it became accredited with Moisson Montreal and is now a proud recipient of their food distribution in order to keep servicing the people of Lachine.
We are grateful for our accomplishments thus far, but have our sights set on doing so much more. We believe with the help of individuals, sponsors and corporations, we will achieve our goals.
